One such app is the ABBYY business card reader app. ABBYY has been a leader of optical character recognition software for a long time, so it’s not shocking that this company’s business card reader app is one of the best. It has the option to rotate to landscape if preferred by the user, with clear, readable text and clean graphics. All you need to do is line the business card up using the guides on the screen, with the software controlling your Android camera’s autofocusand captures the card, putting it through an OCR process whilst giving you the chance to edit some of the details. It also has multilingual features, an example of this is when the user adds a language like Chinese or Portuguese.

Sometimes the app doesn’t accept the picture of the card, so it has to be taken more than once. Other users found it impossible to take scans that weren’t in monochrome, and it doesn’t recognize names or does so poorly, though this can be changed by checking the app settings. But some users find it frustrating because there are no options for setup and things aren’t explained to new users, and internet information is displayed wrong.
Problems also come from recognizing symbols, but besides that the app is perfect for business people.
